Dr. Lyn Kathryn Sonnenberg MD, HonBSc, MEd, MSc, FRCPC (Peds, Dev Peds) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta, where she is both the Director of Academic Technologies in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, and Program Director for Developmental Pediatrics. She is a Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician at the Glenrose Rehabilitation and Stollery Children’s Hospitals, where she is the Medical Lead for Infant Preschool Assessment Services. She completed her medical training at McMaster, Dalhousie, and the University of Toronto, before being recruited to the University of Alberta in 2009. She has been awarded both provincial and national awards for her teaching excellence and speaks internationally on a wide array of medical topics, leadership, and education topics. Caring for children with complex medical needs and their families, she addresses issues surrounding end of life care in her clinical practice. She is a welcomed annual guest lecturer at Vanguard College, where she engages the next generation of Christian leaders on the issue of medical ethics: from the cradle to the grave. She is married to Christopher and together they have three children, Gabe, Gaven and Eden. They have been attending Mill Woods Assembly since they arrived in Edmonton and are actively involved in multiple aspects of ministry.
